Etsy Item Of The Day

Thank you Jackie for featuring our mural wall decals today.

Hip Mural Wall Decal

September13
Item: Circle Chain Wall Decal
Seller:  WallStarGraphics

Modern Circle Chain Mural Wall Decal 300x233 Hip Mural Wall Decal
I was so excited to see WallStarGraphics come my way via an Etsy Item of the Day shop submission! WallStarGraphics has tons of wall decals that are themed around organic, botanicals, trees, landmarks, music, urban chic, trendy, mid century modern and geometrics!
I was loving the geometrics and cool murals featured in this shop, and my favorite is the decal pictured above.

Wall Star Graphics® was created in 2009 to give budget conscious homeowners or those with limited decorating freedom, an easy way to redecorate a room in a matter of minutes,” the seller told me in the shop submission page.  ”We have taken our passions for music, design and fashion and incorporated them into a line of cutting edge wall graphics that speak to your lifestyle.  Wall Star Graphics® line of contemporary wall decals adds instant glamour to any room. We specialize in modern, hip and edgy graphics to fit your lifestyle!

The seller behind WallStarGraphics has some great advice for other Etsy sellers:

It requires your attention. Don’t list items and then forget about your store,” the seller told me.  ”For me, I never lose sight of the fact that my online store is very much like any retail brick and mortar store you would go to shop. You need to keep the look fresh by frequently listing new items and rearranging items to give customers a reason to want to return.

So what’s coming up next for WallStarGraphics?

We just recently received an Official Collegiate License to sell University of Oregon wall decals. We’d like to expand that and be able to offer to other schools,” the seller said.

If you’re loving WallStarGraphics, you can learn more by visiting the shop’s website, the Etsy.com shop, check out the Facebook page, or follow along on Twitter @WallStarGraphic.

A Love of Music

So...we love to ROCK.  Joel plays in a local rock coverband and I'll take in a great concert every chance I get.  A couple of weeks ago we saw Motley Crue and Poison.  The best seats (although who needs a seat at a rock concert?) in the house.

Longstanding growth charts

Use a removable material for measuring kids’ sizes, and you’ll always have it.

Published: (Thursday, Aug 25, 2011 05:00AM) Today

Kids grow up so fast. Keeping track of exactly how fast can be a fun activity for youngsters (even if it makes mom and dad shed a tear every now and then).
Remember standing with your back and heels to the wall, stretching up as tall as possible, trying not to bounce up and down while someone drew a line above your head to indicate height? Even if you had grown only a quarter-inch, it was cause for celebration.
Marks on a wall or notches in a door frame are a fine way to track growth, but in our mobile society it presents a problem: When it’s time to pack up and move, it’s hard to take that record along.
Many art companies and DIYers make growth charts that serve as a permanent record of a child’s changes in height. One is WallStar Graphics, a Eugene-based company that creates decorative vinyl decals.
WallStar’s Ruler Growth Chart, which costs $30 plus shipping, is made to scale and measures 60 inches tall. Installed one foot off the floor, it shows a child’s height up to 6 feet — at which point he or she likely will outgrow the exercise anyway. The growth chart decal is easy to install; just peel away the paper backing and affix.
Permanent markers work great for recording a child’s height on the vinyl decal, says Paula Franklin, WallStar’s president. If you have multiple children, try writing in their names or using different-colored markers.
Removing the decal will not leave any residue on the wall, Franklin says. But it cannot be reapplied if a child switches rooms or the whole family moves. However, it can be saved as a memento.
Decals come in a range of shades, including black, white, turquoise, hot pink and lime green. The company also does custom work (www.wallstargraphics.com).
Duck fans take note, too: WallStar recently started offering officially licensed University of Oregon decals that are ideal for sports fans young and old.
